Complete sets for special
application Runaway Bidirectional
High-Intensity Elevated Lights
OMNIDIRECTIONAL, MEDIUM OR
LOW-INTENSITY ELEVATED LIGHT
This light is specially designed for
runway edge marking, on precision approach runways, CAT I, II & III.
The main feature of the fitting consists in a very good resistance to the blast of jet
engines, while offering a low fragility limit, in case of impact.
It can advantageously replace old lighting systems using semi-flush fittings, the
maintenance of which is more costly, and can be installed on runways used by the smallest
or the biggest aircraft, thanks to its low cost.
Although the azimuth orientation of the two beams is exactly based on ICAO requirements
for a 45 m wide runway, the light distribution of the our fitting allows it to be used on
60 m wide runways as well.
The light is of simple and sturdy design. It receives one single lamp which can be reached
easily by removing the optical head. Maintenance can be performed either on the spot or
inside workshop, simply by replacing the whole optical head. The outer surface of the
glass domes smooth, which avoids to retain the dirt. The light is normally fixed on an
elbow tube, sunk in a concrete block, but can also fixed on a tripod, in case of an
installation on an existing runway.
SPECIFICATIONS
Light in conformity with ICAO recommendations.
UTILIZATION
According to ICAO specifications in Annex 14.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
LAMPS:
Halogen lamps 100 W and 200 W, 6,6 A, with
a focus height of 20 mm are normally to be used. Eventually can be used the lamp with a
focus height of 16 mm.
COLORED FILTER:
Each filter covers an azimuth field of 180°. One filter, two filters, or one filter
and one blanking screen can be fitted.
ELECTRICAL SUPPLY:
This light is normally connected in a series circuit by means of an isolating
transformer, with secondary current of 6,6 A. The connection can be done either using a
Style 7 or Style 12 socket, housed inside the elbow tube termination, or through a
secondary cord running under the stand. |
